چکیده

Desmoplastic fibroblastoma (DF) is a rare benign fibroblastic soft tissue tumor.1 The tumour is prevalent in adult men (4:1), aged 50 to 60 years, with wide anatomic distribution, and tipically it arises in the subcutaneous or subfascial tissue, mainly, of skeletal muscles. The tumor behaves in a benign fashion, presents a slowly growing with no recurrence or metastases, it can achieve a large volume 2. Gross pathology generally showes an elongated, lobulated mass with a firm consisting and a pearl-gray colour. Histologically, DF is characterized by a collagenous stroma that contains spindleand stellated-shaped fibroblastic cells 3. This case report deals with the clinical, pathological and immunoistochemical features of a DF of the left thigh.

Natural evolution of desmoplastic fibroblastoma on magnetic resonance imaging: a case report

INTRODUCTION Desmoplastic fibroblastoma (collagenous fibroma) is a recently described tumor thought to arise predominantly from subcutaneous tissue or skeletal muscle. The natural evolution of this tumor on magnetic resonance imaging has never been described, to the best of our knowledge. We herein report a case of desmoplastic fibroblastoma arising in the thigh and show the longitudinal magnet...

MR Findings of Desmoplastic Fibroblastoma: A Case Report

fibrous, soft-tissue tumor first described by Evans (1) in 1995. This tumor is clinically and morphologically distinct and was deemed completely benign in a few reported series (1-3). There have also been published case reports on the MR features of desmoplastic fibroblastoma (4-8). We herein present a case of desmoplastic fibroblastoma with special focus on the MR findings, because they are di...

Desmoplastic fibroblastoma of the left upper arm

An elderly female patient presented to the clinic with a several-week history of a mass in her left upper arm that was tender to the touch. The mass was initially thought to be a schwannoma of the left radial nerve based on imaging and was surgically removed. The pathology report revealed an uncommon diagnosis of desmoplastic fibroblastoma.

Diagnosis and Differential Diagnosis of Desmoplastic Fibroblastoma by Clinical, Radiological, and Histopathological Analyses

BACKGROUND Desmoplastic fibroblastoma (collagenous fibroma) is an uncommon benign soft-tissue tumor, rarely involving bone. It shares some overlapping features with other infiltrate tumors, such as desmoid-type fibromatosis, neurofibroma, and low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma. The misdiagnosis may cause unnecessary surgical overtreatment, especially for those involving bone. In order to deepen the ...
